For kids you could give the coupons dollar values, or make them for things like extra television privileges or something your child enjoys like a trip to the ice cream parlor. Kids can really get into making coupons themselves. There is no better gift for a mother, father or grandparent than a heartfelt coupon book. The child can offer things like chores that they don't already do. For example they may offer something like washing the car or vacuuming the floor. It all depends on what they can provide and what they want to give.

Why not incorporate homemade coupons as an inventive part of your holidays and birthdays? They will of course they also work for those 'just because' occasions when you want to brighten someone's day. You can make them artistic and colorful with calligraphy, bright markers and crayons. Decorate a special envelope for the coupons to make them even more special. You may even want to have them laminated so after being redeemed they can be kept in a memory album as a keepsake. At the least use a heavy card stock paper so the coupons won't fall apart easily.
